We do this by partnering with school districts to implement rigorous software development academic pathways that enable students to earn industry-based certifications and develop the depth of knowledge and skills needed to pass coding interviews.
We are looking for an individual with experience in UX Design to join our Product & Engineering team and help us craft unique experiences on the TechSmart Platform to help teach Computer Science to students throughout the country. You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about producing effective, creative real-world design solutions with the user in mind. You strive to understand peoples’ intentions, needs, behaviors, thoughts and emotions, in an effort to design and build better interactions and experiences.
Envision and design features for the TechSmart Platform to improve the teacher and student learning experience.
Work closely with product managers to shape and deliver real world features
Apply cross domain UX/UI design experience and knowledge to develop user flows, wireframes, high fidelity mock-ups, prototypes, and do hand-off to developers.
Work collaboratively with key partners across the business such as Customer Success, Curriculum, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales to validate ideas and designs.
Thrive as an independent, autonomous, creative thinker that can break out from conventional solutions
Be a strong communicator. You have the ability to clearly articulate and explain your thoughts on usability, engagement, business / user needs and effectiveness / value add
Negotiate and influence product trade-offs impacting schedule
QA dev complete features to ensure it matches UX specifications
Who you are…
2+ years experience as a UX Designer delivering real world products
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, or evidence of exceptional ability
A strong portfolio exemplifying who you are as a designer
Ability to communicate design concept ideas through sketches, wireframes, high fidelity mock-ups, and prototypes.
Fluent in design thinking and agile techniques
Enjoys solving complex technology and platform-scale challenges
Proven ability to work with broad and loosely defined requirements
Knowledge and practical experience with how the UX workflow is integrated from beginning to end of the product development cycle
Not afraid to challenge the status quo
Passionate about education and the value it brings to society
Possesses a growth mindset
Self-motivated, able to work independently but also collaborative and driven by constructive group feedback
Having a background in design, HCI, information design, psychology, or engineering is a plus
